Retiree and Survivor Open Enrollment for 2011
Benefits Continues
Open Enrollment for 2011 benefits for retirees and
survivors is underway, and participants have until 11:59 p.m. ET on
Nov. 24, to make their benefit elections. The Open Enrollment period
is the only opportunity to select 2011 benefits unless an employee
experiences a qualifying life event such as a birth or marriage.
Employees who do not make benefit elections during Open Enrollment
generally will default to their existing elections or the plan most
similar to their 2010 coverage. New premiums for 2011, which may be
higher, will apply.
Exceptions would include CIGNA dental coverage, which will no longer
be available in 2011.
Retirees and survivors who have access to other coverage and do not
need Delta coverage, may decline it and avoid the associated costs.
However, to decline, employees must actively enroll during the Open
Enrollment period and indicate the “No Coverage” option.
Employees are encouraged to print a copy of their election
confirmation page after completing the Open Enrollment process. A
final confirmation statement will be mailed to employees’ homes in
December.
Additional info and resources about benefit choices are available on
the 2011 Open Enrollment Information site on DeltaNet. Retirees and
survivors who have questions about their benefit options or the
enrollment process may contact the Delta Employee Service Center at
1-800 MY DELTA from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday ET.
Employees calling from outside the U.S. should dial 404-677-8000.
