Delta is trying to locate former Western Airlines employees or their beneficiaries

Delta contracted with Pension Benefit Information (PBI), located in Tiburon, California, to help us locate approximately 2000 former Western Air Lines retirement plan participants or beneficiaries that may be entitled to proceeds due to their participation in these former Western plans. Delta did not have adequate or updated information in its records about these individuals and is using the services of PBI to help with this process. If Delta was able to verify an eligible former Western Air Lines employee's address and other information, no letter from PBI will be sent to that person. Note that the names of the individuals eligible to receive the proceeds came from the records of Western Air Lines that were passed to Delta at the time of the merger in 1987.

We know that some former Western people have expressed concerns about the validity of this letter. Please note that this is a legitimate company working on Delta’s behalf and it is very important that we locate these employees or their beneficiaries. Please share this information with any former Western employees and members of the Westerlies organization. If you have received the PBI letter, please contact PBI directly at (415) 435-2319 so that they can update your information accordingly.
