Letters to Congress and DALRC Board respond to
organization’s concerns
In separate letters to the members of the U.S.
Congress and DALRC Board of Directors, Mike Campbell, e.v.p. – Human
Resources and Labor Relations, and Rob Kight, v.p. – Compensation,
Benefits & Services, respond to a variety of concerns expressed by the
DALRC related to a potential merger between Delta and another carrier.
Mike’s letter is directed to Senators and U.S. Representatives and,
among other important clarifications, it stresses that “maintaining
the pension plan of active employees and retirees is a guiding
principle that must be met if Delta is to complete a consolidation
transaction.”
Rob’s letter is an open letter to the DALRC board. It begins, “I read
with disappointment the 'Top Ten Issues' memo that the DALRC published
to its members in advance of its rally in Washington DC. For the
benefit of all Delta retirees and survivors, I believe it is important
to address what Delta believes are misleading or inaccurate statements
in this document.” It continues to address each of the issues, which
range from the financial security of the Non-Pilot D&S Trust (The
Disability & Survivor Trust), and impacts of a potential merger on
retiree healthcare benefits and pass travel benefits.
