Aetna will no longer sell new group long-term care coverage; Prudential is new vendor

Delta selected Prudential to provide group long-term care (LTC) coverage to Delta employees and retirees replacing the current vendor, Aetna, who advised us that they will no longer be selling new group LTC coverage. Current LTC participants can choose to keep their coverage with Aetna or to switch to Prudential.

An enrollment package was mailed to the homes of employees and retirees who are currently enrolled in group LTC through Aetna. It should arrive by June 7. The deadline to enroll in the new Prudential coverage has been extended until July 7 (from the June 20 deadline indicated in the letter).

The package explains current LTC participants’ two options. They can retain their Aetna coverage with the current policy and current rates. Or, they can select the new Prudential coverage, which is a different policy with different rates. The enrollment package includes a side-by-side comparison and personalized rate sheet; participants are encouraged to carefully review the materials in order to choose the policy that best meets their needs.

Prudential’s customer service center at 877-232-3561 is available for questions. Delta’s Employee Service Center does not have information on these products.
